Tests and certificates

Dry Fire System GmbH and its containers have been tested, assessed and certified by four independent bodies: by TÜV SÜD for load securing to VDI 2700 Part 8, by a publicly appointed dangerous goods expert for classification under ADR 2025, by Fraunhofer HHI in a fire test against the test criteria of packing instructions LP906 and P911, and by ZDH-ZERT for quality management to DIN EN ISO 9001. This page summarises all evidence with number, date and scope.

Certificate and test log for load securing

Certificate Z26032301-1 of 22 Apr 2026, expert Renée Grootveld

Tested to VDI 2700 Part 8:2024-09 for the container type Peter-Bartau SO, permitted for cars and light commercial vehicles from 0 to 4,500 kg actual mass. Dynamic driving test according to the driving cycles of DIN EN 12642 Code XL Annex B, tested at 0.8 g in the direction of travel and 0.5 g against the direction of travel and sideways.

Driving test passed on 1 Apr 2026. Decisive sliding friction coefficient 0.42 against a requirement of at least 0.4. Lashing points 700 daN at 0 and 45 degrees, 600 daN at 90 degrees. The certification is subject to an annual re-inspection.

Dangerous goods expert assessment

Assessment no. 2026-003 of 24 May 2026, expert Jürgen Franz, with a technical opinion by Dipl.-Ing. Jürgen Werny of 17 May 2026

Assessment of the use under ADR 2025 for the transport and quarantine of intact and damaged electric vehicles, and of the suitability as a quarantine area under the AwSV.

Intact vehicles carried as cargo are exempt from the ADR provisions under special provision 666. Damaged vehicles whose battery cannot be safely removed may be carried under special provision 667 b) (ii). The containers are suitable as quarantine areas at car dealerships and vehicle manufacturers without the need to define large separation distances. The ADR amendments adopted for 2027 do not affect this use.

Fire test against LP906 and P911 criteria

Test report 145-613-2023-0039.1, tested on 26 Oct 2023, published on 15 Nov 2023

A fully charged vehicle battery with 100.8 kWh, 650 volts system voltage and NCM 811 cell chemistry was deliberately driven into thermal runaway in the lower compartment. A second vehicle battery with 106 kWh was stored in the compartment above. The test followed the criteria of packing instructions LP906 and P911, which apply to critically defective lithium-ion batteries in the transport of dangerous goods.

During the propagation of around 50 minutes, no flames occurred outside the container, no fragments or debris were ejected, and the container was structurally fully intact after the test. The second battery remained undamaged. Hydrofluoric acid was not measurable at any time; the permissible AEGL-2 value of 9.8 mg per cubic metre was never reached. The external temperature remained below 100 degrees Celsius throughout, except at the lower edge of one door.

Quality management to DIN EN ISO 9001

Certificate register no. Q1 0124101, issued on 26 Sep 2024, valid until 25 Sep 2027

The quality management system of Dry Fire System GmbH was certified to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 for the scope of manufacture and sale of quarantine systems for lithium-ion batteries and electric vehicles. The certification body is accredited by the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS).

The evidence was provided by an audit. Unlike the other evidence on this page, this certificate does not relate to an individual product but to the processes in development, manufacturing and sales.

Under ADR, a container is not a packaging. Packing instructions LP906 and P911 do not apply to it directly; the container was tested against these test criteria but is not approved under them.
